See Visions of Old New York at Freddy’s Wednesday
NYC

If it’s possible to history nerd out over here in South Slope, we’re totally doing it with Freddy’s Visions of New York event tomorrow.

Here’s a look at our home town over the years with a bunch of vintage documentaries, dramas and and travelogs of New York City. If you like forgotten-ny.com, this show is for you. Chimp visits Coney Island in 1946 gives us a good look at Steeplechase; Life in a Metropolis shows us the city in 1949. We’ll see Darren McGavin as Mike Hammer in Coney Island in 1959, and a silent Peter Stuyvesant historical costume drama made in 1922. Plus some extra treats.

The coolest part? It’s all on 16mm film. Don’t miss it! Freddy’s (627 5th Ave) on Wednesday, April 3, at 8pm. No cover.
