This Saturday, November 9, Core Walking‘s Jonathan Fitzgordon will be reading from his latest book, Psoas Release Party!, at the Cortelyou Library (1305 Cortelyou Road on the corner of Argyle Road).

Jonathan, a Ditmas Park neighbor and yoga professional, developed the Core Walking Program in 2005 while trying to find a way to overcome his own injuries and consequent surgeries–and realized improving one’s walking style was the perfect solution, as it’s something many of us do on a very regular basis.

“The human body will accept any pattern we put into it whether that pattern is good or bad,” Jonathan says on his website. “This is how chronic injuries develop out of seemingly innocent or even unknown events. The injury becomes chronic because your body adapts a new movement pattern due to unconscious compensations.

“Learning to walk, or re-learning to walk allows you to re-pattern your body to move in the direction of your choice.”

The event starts at 3pm. Come hear Jonathan speak, and see if he can’t help reteach you how to walk!
