Local artists are opening their studios to the public this weekend, giving people a chance to see their work and where they make it — and maybe pick up a piece or two to bring home.

The Park Slope Windsor Terrace 2014 Artists’ Open Studio Tour is on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, from 12-7pm each day. It’s free to visit the more than two dozen studios, which stretch from around Grand Army Plaza to Green-Wood Cemetery and feature artists from all kinds of disciplines, from painting to photography to ceramics and beyond.

Visitors will also have the chance to purchase works directly from the artists, who might very well be your neighbors — not a bad gift idea, with the holidays coming up.

Get a preview of the artists’ works on the tour’s website, where there’s also a map of all the participating studios.
