See A Geisha Performance & More This Sunday At J-LABO
This Sunday, September 7, you’ll have a chance to see a famed Japanese Geisha perform right here in the neighborhood.
Geisha Kikuno is coming to Brooklyn to demonstrate the ancient artform at J-LABO (300 7th Street), collaborating with multimedia director Kenji Williams, as part of a Fall Festival at the space.
Look for ”Kidoairaku” performances by Läle Sayoko, Gagaku Orchestra, Tyler Parker, and Kenji Willams, performances by Kikuno, Kento Iwasaki, and Hirona Amamiya, demonstrations by craftsmen from the Ishikawa prefecture, a tea ceremony, manga, shakyo, origami demonstrations, sake, and snacks.
The festival runs from 1-8pm, with Kidoairaku performances at 3pm and 6:30pm. There’s a suggested donation of $20.
