Seagate Man Indicted For Raping Ex-Girlfriend, Murdering Her Friend
SEAGATE – Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced today that a 40-year-old man from Seagate has been indicted for first-degree murder, rape, burglary and other charges for breaking into his former girlfriend’s apartment, raping her, and slashing her friend’s throat, all while the woman’s 11-year-old daughter hid in another room.
As BKLYNER reported on November 10, at approximately midnight on Sunday, October 29, Ruslan Baimov allegedly entered the Seagate home of his former girlfriend who had recently broken up with him. Investigators say Baimov pushed in an air conditioning unit and climbed in through the window. According to the investigation, his ex-girlfriend said she had just come out of the shower when she discovered Baimov in the kitchen holding a knife to the throat of her visiting friend, 42-year-old Larysa Saad.
Baimov allegedly slit Saad’s throat and left her bleeding for hours as he raped his former girlfriend. The defendant reportedly remained in the apartment for approximately five hours while his ex-girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter hid in a bedroom.
Saad was transported to Coney Island Hospital where she died on November 7.
Baimov is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree burglary, and predatory sexual assault.
He is also charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree sexual abuse, and related counts for a prior incident that occurred on October 23 in which he allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend’s home and molested her.
Baimov is being held without bail and is scheduled to return to court on February 9, 2018. He faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted.
“The depravity of this defendant’s alleged actions is almost beyond words,” Acting District Attorney Gonzalez said in a statement. “He inflicted unimaginable terror and horror on this family and took the life of their innocent and beloved friend. I intend to make sure that he is held responsible for each and every crime with which he is charged.”
