Seagate Man Arrested For Killing Woman Visiting Ex-Girlfriend
SEAGATE – Police have arrested a 40-year-old Seagate man after he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, raped and assaulted her, and slashed her friend’s throat.
At approximately 4:50am on Sunday, October 29, police responded to a 911 call at a residence on Beach 45th Street. When officers arrived to the scene they discovered 42-year-old Larysa Saad with her throat slashed and a 38-year-old woman with knife wounds to her leg and throat, according to police.
EMS transported the women to Coney Island Hospital where the 38-year-old female was treated and released. Saad died on Tuesday, November 7 after her family decided to take her off life support, the New York Daily News reports.
Police arrested the 38-year-old woman’s ex-boyfriend, Ruslan Baimov, in connection to the incident.
According to the Daily News report, Saad was at her friend’s apartment around midnight on October 28 when Baimov broke in by pushing in an air conditioning unit and climbing in through the window. Saad’s friend had recently broken up with Baimov, who lived in the same the building on an upper level, the paper reports.
After entering the apartment, Baimov slashed Saad’s throat and then stabbed and raped his ex-girlfriend. He then held the women hostage for approximately four hours, while his ex-girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter hid in a bedroom, according to the article.
Baimov was arraigned on October 31 on charges of attempted murder, assault, rape, and burglary. The charges will likely be increased to murder following Saad’s death.
