Drunk Off-Duty School Safety Agent Arrested For Kicking Cop
WILLIAMSBURG – An off-duty NYPD School Safety Agent was arrested after assaulting a police officer that was trying to stop a fight between her and a man over the weekend.
On Saturday, September 9 at around 10:30 p.m., 33-year-old Melinda Breland was outside Cozzi Pizza on Broadway Avenue near Walton Street. According to the cops, she was drunk and fighting with a man. Police officers tried to calm her down but it was not enough as she allegedly kicked one of the cops.
Breland was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct. She is currently suspended without pay.
