Schaller’s Stube—”a Berlin style street food stand with a New York sensibility”—will officially open on Friday, November 1 at the City Point food hall, offering German classics along with a selection of “Quality Wursts.”

Co-founded by Jeremy Schaller and Jesse Denes, the original Schaller’s Stube stand opened in 2014 inside Schaller & Weber, a renowned butcher shop that Schaller’s grandfather, Ferdinand Schaller, opened in 1937 on the Upper East Side at Second Avenue and 86th Street in Yorkville, an area once know as “Little Germany,” according to the New York Times. The butcher shop catered to the German immigrants inhabiting the neighborhood, producing traditional cured meats and sausages from their homeland.

Today, after three generations, Jeremy Schaller and Denes have updated the shop’s offerings to include local and international flavors reflecting NYC’s diversity. Along with the Classic Bratwurst and Currywurst, the menu features the Cajun-inspired Po’Brat with andouille sausage; the kimchi-topped Kim Chi Ken; and the banh mi-like Saigon Special with daikon-carrot slaw and Sriracha aioli.

For veggie options, Schaller’s Stube offers “Beyond” sausage menu items, including the Classic, Bahn-Meat, and the Beyond Slider. There’s also the Oktoberfest Jumbo Pretzel served with Bavarian sweet mustard. Sides include French fries, potato pancakes, cole slaw, and potato or cucumber salads. Click here for the full menu.
