Scam Alert: Little League Con Man Still On The Loose

This is not an actual photo of the scam artist. Promise.

Police thought they had the perp earlier this week in a con-artist case spanning several months, but after further investigation it turned out that it wasn’t their guy.

That means the scam artist may still be in the area, going door-to-door asking for funds to help Gil Hodges Little League. But the man has no connection to Gil Hodges or the organization that runs it, Grace Gravesend Athletic Association.

At least one reader reports that the man stopped by with this shtick in the beginning of May. So he’s hit Sheepshead Bay in addition to Marine Park, Gravesend, Bath Beach, Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge.

The man is described as a Caucasian male in his late 20s or early 30s, with dark hair. He is usually well-dressed and carrying a clipboard. If he comes to your door, call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit tips at nypdcrimestoppers.com or text info to 274637 (CRIMES), entering TIP577.
