Save Money by Registering for Summer Camp Early and Often

It is possible to budget for Brooklyn summer camps. We’ve identified 3 different kinds of discounts–and some camps will allow you to use more than one simultaneously!

Early Bird Discount
Most day camps offer early bird registration discounts with the stipulation that the earlier you register, the greater the discount. Many of these early bird discounts end by the beginning of March, including the two camps listed here.

  • Parents will save $200 by signing up with Shorefront Y (3300 Coney Island Ave) before March 2nd, which is also the date of their next open house.
  • Congregation Beth Elohim (274 Garfield Place) offers many discounts including $100 off if you’re paid in full by March 3rd and 5% off sibling’s tuition.

Sibling Discounts
Offering a sibling discount is a fabulous incentive for the multi-child household as well as a boon for camps. Win/win all around.

Loyalty Discounts
Loyalty discounts work in two ways.

  • Either, sign up for multiple sessions in the same camp. Brooklyn Arts Exchange (421 5th Ave) offers a 5% discount for registering for more than 5 weeks.
  • Or, attend the same camp year after year. Kings Bay Y (1224 Prospect Ave) offer discounts to returning families.

Paying for summer camps in Brooklyn doesn’t have to break the budget. After all, we need petty cash to buy overpriced ice cream cones on the walk home from camp.
