Saturday: Free Regina Opera Winter Concert At Vesuvio Restaurant In Bay Ridge
Sick of the snow? This weekend, warm up with a live-opera performance at one of Bay Ridge’s coziest Italian restaurants.
The Dyker Heights-based Regina Opera Company will be holding its “Regina Opera Embraces Winter” concert on Saturday February 21, at 3pm.
The free performance will take place at Vesuvio Restaurant, 7305 3rd Avenue, which serves up Neapolitan home-style cooking in a comfortable, family friendly environment – and happens to boast one of the best Grandma slices in town.
As part of the Bay Ridge Arts and Cultural Alliance‘ “Embrace Winter” Festival, the restaurant will host a one-hour concert featuring opera and Broadway selections, as well as Italian Songs, performed by Regina Opera soloist Cheryl Warfield, tenor Tate Jorgensen, and baritone Dan Boruchowitz. The soloists will be accompanied by Richard Paratley on the flute and Maxine Feldman on the piano.
Live music? Delicious food? Free? Sounds like a perfect Saturday afternoon. You may even feel better about winter by the time you leave.
To get to the restaurant take the R train to Bay Ridge Avenue or take B70, B4, B9, or B64 buses. For more information, visit Regina Opera’s website, e-mail info@ReginaOpera.org or call 718-259-2772.
