Sanitation And Other Service Updates In Bensonhurst
If you’ve been wondering about the various city services in the area such as sanitation pickups, here’s your guide to what’s been happening in the hood, according to Brooklyn Community Board 11’s District Manager, Marnee Elias-Pavia.
SANITATION
Though they are a bit backlogged, DSNY is making all collections. Some pickups are behind, while other trucks may be making pickups with greater frequency. All in all, they’re in the area and picking up your trash.
STREET CLEANING
All street cleaning is suspended
MTA
Buses and trains are running as per the MTA guidelines, however, expect delays and overcrowding.
TREE REMOVAL
The parks department has been working to remove dangerous fallen trees. Now, they are awaiting wood pickup.
NYPD
There is a heavy presence of officers around the area to ensure safety.
GAS
Gas stations continue to have lines. The latest station to offer gas is at 86th Street and Bay 7th. This was early this morning and they may have ran out of gas by now.
CAESAR’S BAY
Structural engineers have been called to assess the damage to Toys “R” Us and the other stores affected by the storm. No further information is available at this time.
SHORE PARKWAY PROMENADE
Due to the hazardous conditions there on the bike path and foot path, residents are asked to stay away from the area until it can be assessed for safety.
