Salon Moving Into Former Butter Lane Space On 7th Avenue

The former home of Butter Lane Cupcakes is one of the few storefronts on 7th Avenue to be vacant only briefly — a sign recently went up in the window announcing a new salon for the space.

The sign says we’ll soon have a “beauty center and spa” at 240 7th Avenue, between 4th and 5th Streets. Though 7th Avenue certainly has its share of salons, it seems like 5th Avenue is the street that’s been getting even more recently — do you think this is something this block needs?

Cupcake haven Butter Lane closed at the end of August after three years in the space, though their location in the East Village remains open.
