Get ready for fun and games at Saint A’s!

The Saint Athanasius Church Carnival begins this Wednesday, June 8 and will continue until Monday, June 13.

The bazaar, which raises funds for the school, had ceased for several years but was renewed after the arrival ten years ago of Monsignor David Cassato.

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle interviewed Monsignor Cassato last week about the event.

“It brings the community together with all sorts of fun things to enjoy  and buy, and helps raise money for our wonderful school that serves our  community,” Monsignor Cassato told the Eagle’s Harold Egeln. “It helps  deflate the cost of our education that has a moderate, affordable  tuition.”

Festivities will include an Italian night on Friday, as well as a Spanish night, local music, vendors, casino games (for the adults) and, of course, rides.

Saint Athanasius is located at 2154 61st Street at Bay Parkway. Anyone with questions can visit the parish’s website.
