The Russians Are Coming To Carroll Gardens
Is former Trump campaign chairman and Russian comrade, Paul Manafort, shacking up in Carroll Gardens?
Pardon Me For Asking‘s Katia Kelly recently did some Nancy Drew-worthy sleuthing and uncovered evidence that Manafort does in fact own 377 Union Street between Smith and Hoyt Streets.
Combing through Department of Buildings records, Kelly discovered in late 2012 MC Brooklyn Holdings, LLC purchased 377 Union Street for $2,995,000.
In 2013, NYC DOB approved an application to convert the four story, two-family building into a one-family residence for price tag of approximately $528,000.00. This DOB application shows Manafort as the property owner.
Work on the building abruptly stopped about a year and a half ago with a Stop Work Order being issued on February 1st due to “applicant withdrawal.”
Kelly digs deeper and finds that the deed to the 377 Union Street was transferred from the LLC to Manafort on January 4th, after which three mortgages were taken out under his name, his wife’s, and MC Brooklyn Holdings.
Is Manafort on the fence about decamping from D.C. and moving to Brownstone Brooklyn? By the looks of it, he’d have plenty of room to host his visiting Russian cohorts. Check out Kelly’s post for more details and photos.
