Congratulations to Rose Water Restaurant at 787 Union Street for winning this year’s Greenest Storefront in the Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest. Thistle Hill Tavern at 441 7th Avenue took second place.
The Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest promotes streetscape, gardening, tree stewardship, and community development throughout Brooklyn. The project is supported by GreenBridge, the community environmental horticulture program of Brooklyn Botanic Garden, as well as Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.
Also, congratulations to the Union Street Block Association, which received a special commendation for their “Doggie Spots,” which were called an extraordinary innovation in street tree care.
The Sterling Place Block Association, between 7th Avenue and Flatbush, also received an honorable mention.
