Founded by Ronald K. Brown in 1985 and based in Brooklyn, Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, A Dance Company performs at BRIC House in Downtown Brooklyn for the fourth year.

The company, who promotes understanding of the human experience in the African Diaspora, integrates traditional African dance with contemporary choreography and spoken word. Through their work, Evidence provides a unique view of human struggles, tragedies, and triumphs. Brown uses movement as a way to reinforce the importance of community in African American culture and to acquaint audiences with the beauty of traditional African forms and rhythms.

Fittingly, the program at BRIC expresses love, joy and community connection and features Truth Don Die (2006), reimagined with community performers taking the stage alongside Evidence, A Dance Company; She is Here (2016), a recently premiered female solo; Ife/My Heart (2005), a work originally created for The Alvin Ailey Company; andFour Corners (2013/Company Premiere 2016), originally commissioned and performed by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

The company has traveled all over the world but returns home to Brooklyn for this special engagement. The performances will take place in the state-of-the-art BRIC House Ballroom, which is conveniently located in Downtown Brooklyn at 647 Fulton St.

The program runs from Nov 17-20 and tickets are $18 in advance.
