Rock Out With The Dad Beats At A Fundraiser For PS 139 Tomorrow, Thursday, March 26
Neighbors, get ready for a night filled with music, dancing, food and more!
Tomorrow, Thursday, March 26,
everyone is invited to join our neighborhood’s much loved The Dad Beats for a fundraiser for PS 139 (330 Rugby Road). The event, being organized by neighbor and The Dad Beats member Dan Loomis, will kick off at 5:45pm at the school, and The Dad Beats will begin performing at 6:15pm.All of the money raised during the event will go to benefit the music department at PS 139.
Dan wrote to us:
The music programs of elementary schools across the country have been mostly gutted by budget cuts over the last 15-20 years. But in this landscape of arts austerity, the 139 music program is beacon of what early music programs can be. PS 139 has two full-time teachers, a keyboard program for all the students starting in kindergarten and a band program available for kids starting in 4th grade. Keeping this music program strong gives our neighborhood kids the gift of a life-long appreciation of music and raises a standard high for other NYC elementary schools to aspire to.
Tickets for the event are $2 per person or $5 per family.
