On The Road Again! Willie Nelson To Visit Coney Island This Summer

The soon-to-open Coney Island Amphitheater has added another headliner to its already stacked summer lineup. Country music legend Willie Nelson will play at the open-air entertainment venue on September 13, according the musician’s website.

Tickets for the show, available on Ticketmaster, go on sale at 10am on Friday, April 22. The show will also include Aaron Lewis, frontman for the rock group Staind until it went on hiatus last year.

The show will take place in the 5,000-seat amphitheater, located at West 21st Street and the Boardwalk, which is scheduled to open in time for Ziggy Marley’s visit on June 25. The new entertainment venue involves the rehabilitation of the landmarked Childs Restaurant and is backed by a $60 million investment from the city.

The Coney Island show will be the last stop on Nelson’s tour schedule, which has him criss-crossing the country. Good to see him “on the road again!”
