Riders Alliance Organizing G Train Strategy Meeting Tonight
Join other G train straphangers tonight for a Riders Alliance strategy meeting.
The Riders Alliance has been fighting for more frequent service, better communication, and free transfers from the G to other lines.
An improved G train may lend validity to an F express. Last week the Transit’s Office of Management and Budget promised to study the possibility of an F express train when the Culver Viaduct work is complete. AM New York took the vow of a study as a sign the F express is imminent, but the Daily News wrote it would never happen. Second Ave Sagas pointed out the complications for an F express study mentioning, among other things, that the staggering cost of rehabilitating Bergen St makes the project unlikely.
As Gary Reilly said in his blog First and Court, “We need to demand not a re-allocation, but an INCREASE in service along the Culver Line.” I expand on his words somewhat when I say we need and improved G and an express F.
The meeting is at 322 Union Ave. Register online here.
