Brooklyn-based, multi-media artist Miguel Luciano explores issues of Puerto Rican cultural identity, history, and politics. BRIC commissioned Luciano to create a new series of sculptures composed of customized vintage Schwinn bicycles that question the colonial relationship between the United States and Puerto Rico while celebrating the traditions of New York City Puerto Rican bike clubs.

BKLYN Bike Meet-Up

What: City Point and Bric Art host a BKLYN Bike Meet-up
The BKLYN Bike Meet Up is a community art event celebrating artist Miguel Luciano’s current exhibition at Bric House. Join local Puerto Rican Bike Clubs and bike enthusiasts as they celebrate bike culture and showcase their customized rides. The event will feature Latin American-inspired food, music, and an Instagram contest giving away 10 Schwinn bicycles. There will also be family workshops, a bike maintenance workshop, and a bike advocacy presentation by Transportation Alternatives.
