Resurrection Sheepshead Bay Launches (Sponsored)

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many New Yorkers were left in a state of extreme need. Resurrection Brooklyn, a multi-site network of Brooklyn churches, has sought to join with other concerned New Yorkers to meet those unmet needs. Resurrection Brooklyn Relief was created to to serve survivors of Hurricane Sandy in rebuilding and relocation efforts in coastal south Brooklyn neighborhoods.

One of the questions we began to ask right away, “But what about after Sandy relief?” How would we continue to serve these neighbors long after the last panel of drywall is hung by our volunteers? As we asked our neighbors the same question, the answer became clear. Resurrection Brooklyn’s vision is to see neighborhood churches started all over Brooklyn. So why not a new church community for Sheepshead Bay?
