If you live in Bay Ridge (Congressional District 11), Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Brownsville, PLG, Flatbush, Midwood, Sheepshead, Gerritsen Beach, Marine Park – Congressional District 9 – Tuesday, June 26th is Primary Day.
Historically very few eligible voters turn up – in D9 only 4% of registered Democrats voted last time there was a primary (in 2012), effectively electing our current representation – in a heavily Democratic district like this primary generally determines the November general election outcome.
In District 9, it is a race between incumbent Yvette Clarke and Adem Bunkeddeko on the Democratic side. Clarke has the establishment, Bunkeddeko has the New York Times endorsement, saying its time for a change. You can see their debate on NY1 and Brian Lehrer did a segment with each. Whoever wins, likely to win the general election.
In District 11, its incumbent Dan Donovan versus Michael Grimm on the Republican side.
