Rekoda Grocery on Church Avenue Is Closed

On the corner of Church Avenue and East 18th Street, Rekoda Grocery has been closed for several days. The shelves are empty and the doors are shuttered at the grocery, which opened in August of 2011. We contacted the Church Avenue Business Improvement District to ask what was happening with the business and the space itself at 1801 Church Avenue, but it seems that no one is quite sure.

“We’ve been looking into this,” said Church Avenue BID Executive Director Lauren Elvers Collins. “I don’t have definitive information right now, but it’s been at the top of my list.”

Lauren says she’ll get back to us as soon as she’s sure of the situation.
