Register To Be A Bone Marrow Donor This Saturday At Temple Beth Emeth

This Saturday, June 14, Temple Beth Emeth (83 Marlborough Road on the corner of Church Avenue) will be holding a bone marrow registry drive inspired by fellow Brooklynite Seth Kushner, the son of a TBE congregant, who was diagnosed last month with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

No donor has been found yet for Seth, who remains in the hospital separated from his four-year-old son–but stopping by Temple Beth Emeth on Saturday between 12:30 and 5pm will give Seth the chance to beat his disease, and all you have to do is fill out one short form and provide a quick cheek swab. No marrow will be taken on Saturday–your information will simply be kept in the event that you’re a match for Seth or someone else living with blood cancer.

If you’re between 18 and 55 years old and meet the eligibility requirements to be a bone marrow donor, you can order a free volunteer donor kit from DeleteBloodCancer.org and send in your swab. And even if you’re not able to volunteer or donate marrow, please help spread the word!
