PROSPECT PARK — Prospect Park Zoo debuted their red panda cubs this week. They were born over the summer in their indoor den and are now old enough to venture outside to explore their habitat. (CBS New York)

CYPRESS HILLS — Elsa, the churro vendor whose handcuffing went viral last week and the woman who posted the video of it online have teamed up for a fundraiser that will help street vendors who, like her, are stuck in a cycle of debt. (Patch)

BUSHWICK — Bushwick is getting a new community garden, courtesy of $3.1 million in state revitalization funds, which will serve the neighborhood as both an oasis for green thumbs and an outdoor events center. (Brooklyn Paper)

PARK SLOPE — In the late ’80s, the Park Slope co-op had 1,700 members. Today, there are more than 17,000, which makes it the biggest food cooperative run on member labor in the country. (The New Yorker)

EAST NEW YORK — A stray bullet from the hit a school bus this morning. Around 8:45 a.m. the police found a 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. (Patch)
