Red Panda Babies Practically Live In Ditmas Park Now! (Okay, They're At The Prospect Park Zoo)

Is there a better way to (almost, you’re so close) start your weekend than with video footage of the Prospect Park Zoo’s adorable new red panda cubs? The dynamic duo, a plush and cuddly male and a female, were born last summer, and are making themselves at home on the Discovery Trail.

According to the zoo’s website, red pandas are generally nocturnal creatures, but they love climbing trees, and can sometimes be found resting up in the branches “for as much as 15 hours of the day.” When climbing, “their long tails help them balance,” and on cold days, “a red panda will wrap its bushy tail around its body to keep warm.” A built-in Snuggie!!!

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Prospect Park Zoo is located at 450 Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Park, and is open daily from 10am to 4:30pm. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids afed 3-12, and free for children under 3.
