Ramen Yebisu To Open In Former Olieng Spot

Ramen Yebisu To Open In Former Olieng Spot
new sign at Olieng thai

A neighbor tipped us off to this new sign in front of the former Olieng Thai spot at 52 7th Avenue between St. John’s and Lincoln Place.

It looks like Ramen Yebisu, the popular Sapporo-style ramen shop on North 6th Street in Williamsburg, will be opening its second location in our neighborhood. Here’s Park Slope talked to a manager at the Williamsburg location who confirmed that this will be the same restaurant.

Ramen Yebisu specializes in seafood-based ramen, rather than the pork-based tonkotsu ramen that is popular at most of the noodle spots in Brooklyn. A popular specialty is abura soba, soup-free noodles topped with a rich soy-based sauce.

Ramen Yebisu started as a stall at the Smorgasburg food fair, before opening their Williamsburg location near Berry Street in 2012.

We are excited to have more ramen choices in the area. What do you think?
