If you are looking for a quick and cheap place to grab a snack, Kabir’s Bakery, is a great option. The bakery has a location at 1425 Foster Avenue near Newkirk Plaza and at 97 Church Avenue in Kensington, as well as several locations in Queens.

We stopped in for a quick bite and we were not disappointed. Kabir’s is known for their samosas and almond cookies so we went for the classics. We were able to get two vegetable samosas, two almond cookies and a small cup of coffee for just $4.25.

We dug into the samosas first, which were giant balls of fried, flaky goodness. The vegetable filling has flavor but isn’t too spicy and the dough surrounding it is perfectly fried and delicious. We quickly devoured the two that we ordered.

We then moved on to the almond cookies, which were sweet but not too sweet, nutty but not too nutty, and overall a great cookie. We quickly discovered that dipping the almond cookies into our well-made cup of coffee added just the right amount of heat and softness, making them a perfect rainy day bite.

We enjoyed the almond cookies so much, we grabbed another couple to take home with us for later and we can’t wait to go back next time we need a quick snack.

Kabir’s Bakery, located at 1425 Foster Avenue, between Marlborough and Rugby roads, and 97 Church Avenue near McDonald Avenue, is open from 7am to 10pm daily.
