Q Gardens Is Coming Soon! Make Signs & Learn More This Saturday
About seven months after neighbors Anne Schoenborn and Ali Jacobs first spoke to us about making a vacant E 18th Street lot into a community garden, it looks like Q Gardens is just about upon us. Now, Anne and Ali are asking interested locals to join them as they make signs for the lot’s fence this Saturday, October 19.
Participants are invited to join the Q crew on E 18th Street and Church Avenue, behind the Church Avenue B/Q subway entrance, between noon and 5pm.
“We will provide as many materials as we can and invite folks to bring food to share if they would like,” Anne says. “Everyone is welcome to come by at any point to meet others, learn about Q Garden, help decorate the signs, etc.
“We have made great strides with the MTA and hope to have access to the space very soon,” she adds. “We look forward to making the garden a welcoming place for everyone in the neighborhood!”
