Public Meeting On B67 Bus Extension Tonight
Do you think the B67 bus should be extended to reach the Brooklyn Navy Yard? That’s what the MTA is proposing at a meeting tonight, Monday, April 29 at 8pm (registration to speak begins at 5pm) at Brooklyn Borough Hall Court Room, 209 Joralemon Street (you can get there, conveniently enough, by the B67 bus).
Here’s what they are planning for the route:
The B67 would continue to operate on its existing route from McDonald Avenue and Cortelyou Road in Kensington to Downtown Brooklyn. The proposed extension would travel along Jay Street, Front Street, York Street, Gold Street, Sands Street through the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Kent Avenue to Division Avenue (see map above). The proposed extension would provide new connections to the York Street Station and B62 bus service on Wythe Avenue. The new service would operate every 30 minutes between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on weekdays. This route is planned to begin operating fall 2013.
Is this the best idea for this route? With more and more happening the Navy Yard, is that a destination for any of you? Or, since the B69 was rerouted a few years ago, would you rather see a bus line that goes directly to Grand Army Plaza?
