Prospect Park Skating Rink Employee Charged With Underage Sex Exploitation
A man who worked at the Prospect Park ice skating rink was charged yesterday with sexual exploitation of underage girls, the Daily News reported.
According to authorities, the underage victims were from the Philippines and the incidents took place via both live streaming and online chats.
In a complaint report by FBI special agent Aaron Spivak, 52-year-old Jeffrey Robinson told the FBI he had sex with minors when he traveled to the Philippines. In addition, he was in possession of child pornography he acquired on his trip.
Court papers detail that the FBI was given a tip by Yahoo!’s Internet crimes team, who reported Robinson “exchanging pictures and videos depicting child sex abuse.”
“Jeffrey Robinson had video chat communications in the U.S. with approximately five or six minors who were located in the Philippines and during some of these video chat sessions both he and the minors were nude,” Spivak stated.
The Daily reported, “there was also evidence on Robinson’s laptop of him directing a girl who said she was 13-years-old to perform sex acts with her older brother in exchange for 1,200 pesos, according to the complaint.”
According to U.S. Attorney Kaitlin Farrell, a day care center is located in Robinson’s building. In addition, Robinson worked at the skating rink in close proximity to children.
Surprisingly, Robinson may not serve jail time. Magistrate Judge Robert Levy said releasing Robinson on $100,000 bail and placing him on house arrest is under consideration should a “financially secure person” vouch for him.
