Shirtless Man Threatens Nun Praying In Prospect Heights Church [VIDEO]
[Update: A person of interest has been arrested, officials confirm]
Police are searching for a shirtless man who threatened to kill a 49-year-old nun as she was praying on Wednesday afternoon in a Prospect Heights church.
The suspect approached the nun while she was in a vestibule at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, located 856 Pacific Street, at 2:30pm on July 5, said cops.
“I don’t believe in this because you don’t help poor people,” he said to her, according to NYPD.
After the fearful nun continued to ignore him, he demanded that she repeat his statement back to him. When she did, he threatened her life, according to reports.
“I will kill you,” he said.
The victim ran away and yelled for help, while the suspect fled the location on foot toward Pacific Street, police confirmed.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 pounds with a medium complexion and a bald head. He was last seen shirtless and wearing khaki shorts.
