UPDATE #2 (11/15/17): Police have arrested Jeanpierre Pacheco, 25, of Coney Island in connection to the incident. He has been charged with second degree murder, attempted murder and assault, as well as criminal possession of a firearm, said police.

UPDATE: Upon notification of the family, police have identified the deceased as Alyssa Rodriguez, 17, of Coney Island.

CONEY ISLAND – A shooting in the early morning hours left one dead and one in the hospital today at the Site 8 Houses in Coney Island.

Responding to a 911 call of persons shot at 4:21 am on Tuesday, November 7, police arrived at 2950 West 35th Street to discover to people shot within the apartment. A 20-year old man had suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and 17-year old Alyssa Rodriguez had been shot in the chest, said police.

EMS transported Rodriguez to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, and the man to Lutheran Hospital, where he was in stable condition, said police.

Thus far, there are no arrests and an investigation is underway.
