BUSHWICK – An early morning shooting outside a Bushwick pool hall left one man dead and sent another to the hospital on Saturday, police confirmed.

The shooting happened around 3:30 am, outside of Harvey’s Bar & Restaurant, located at 1639 Broadway, between the Halsey and Chauncey Street stops on the J. Following a verbal dispute between two groups, three men assaulted two victims, men who were 44 and 43 years old.

Video of the suspects outside the establishment can be seen below:

During the fight, one of the three attackers pulled a gun and shot both of the victims, said police. After the shots were fired, all three suspects piled into a white two-door sedan and fled north on Broadway.

The 43-year old victim was shot in the neck and removed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police responded to a call around 6:30 am to find the 44-year old victim, who had been shot in the torso, outside of 693 Decatur Street a few blocks away. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Fason, of Bed-Stuy, said police.

The New York Post has reported that an investigation is underway into the response of the NYPD officers who first arrived on the scene—who may have not even got out of their car. Reportedly, FDNY was treating the victims on the scene when NYPD showed up.

Sources say the two officers have been suspended while an internal probe into the incident is conducted.
