Police: This Thug Robbed And Injured An 80-Year-Old Woman; Help Find Him

Cops say the man in the photo above attacked and robbed an 80-year-old woman and left her injured in the streets.

The man approached his victim from behind in Coney Island and violently grabbed at her purse, authorities say. She was knocked to the ground and left with minor injuries, while he fled.

The suspect was last seen wearing a grey tank top, dark pants, black du-rag and carrying a dark colored backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.

Update (1:22 p.m.): We’ve learned that this incident actually happened on Bay 46th Street in Bath Beach – not Coney Island as we previously reported. The story has been amended.

  1. The oh so innocent African-american residents who’re always getting abused and discriminated against.
Al Sharpton is nowhere to see.
How about the West Indian Parade a couple of days ago? The media, for some reason, has been awfully quiet about how the raging drunk crowd was behaving there.
Jumping on top of police cars, selling and drinking alcohol right on the streets without any permission to sell, just to mention a few.
Why don’t you, Minister Sharpton, start fixing the problem within your community instead complaining about brutality and discrimination.

  2. In Brooklyn, we have a Willie Horton like incident almost everyday. Shame on you, the so-called conservative Russians and the religous Jews of South Brooklyn for subjecting their loved ones to the likely pitential of being a victim of a crime. Instead, these people have an option of moving to a safer neighborhood. These homeowners are sick in the head. These homeowners in South Brooklyn are rewarded with very low foreclosure rates,; eventhough, the crime rate in their precincts is the worst of South Brooklyn. New Jersey has higher foreclosure rates than does NYC; eventhough, New Jersey’s crime rate is half of NYC’s. Shame on you Brooklyn for ripping away your possessions from more deserving people in the Tri-State Area. Good people from good neighborhoods, not filthy scavengers constantly playing the White victim in Brooklyn race card.
