Police have identified a suspect in the hit-and-run crash that killed 27-year-old auto mechanic Felipe Castro while he was repairing a car on 3rd Avenue earlier this month.

On May 10 at about 7:30am, a 2013 Nissan Altima hit Castro and two cars at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 7th Street. The impact of the crash sent Castro into the rear window of a parked car, and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say an investigation found that the operator of the vehicle was 35-year-old Miguel Morales. He is described as a Hispanic male who stands 5’7″ tall and weights 225 pounds.

Anyone with information in regards to his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.
