Police Seek Suspect in Cell Phone Snatch at 4th/9th F Station

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a grand larceny that occurred at about 2pm on Tuesday, September 25 at the 4th Ave/9th St F subway station.

Police say the suspect approached a 46-year-old man, grabbed the victim’s cell phone, and fled the station on foot.

The suspect, seen in the video above wearing an Elmo hoodie, is described as a black male in his 20s, about 6′ tall and of a medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers’ website by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637), then entering TIP577. Police say all calls are strictly confidential.
