The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for a cell phone theft somewhere near or at the 25th Street R subway station.
On Tuesday, October 15 at about 6:15pm, police say that the victim, a 39-year-old man, entered the station and boarded a southbound R train, when he noticed he no longer had his cell phone. According to police, the victim then used an app that allowed him to view a photo of the person in possession of his phone.
Anyone with information about this grand larceny is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.
