Police Seek Suspect In B Train Mobile Phone Grab
Suspect in B Train Mobile Phone Theft

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying a man they say stole a mobile phone from a woman on the subway in our area.

On Monday, September 17 at 1:20pm, police say the woman was riding a Manhattan-bound B train when the suspect, who was sitting across from her, stood up as the train reached the station, grabbed her Samsung Galaxy phone, and fled the train. No injuries were reported.

The NYPD noted that the station was “Flatbush Avenue,” and we checked in on that with them to see if they meant the 7th Avenue stop, which is what it looks like in the surveillance images above, but they just reconfirmed Flatbush.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.
