Police in the 79th Precinct are looking for a man they say threatened a woman and child at knifepoint, then made off with their belongings on Monday afternoon.

Cops say at about 2:45pm on November 10, the victim was exiting the elevator at her Franklin and Dekalb area apartment building when a man punched her and pushed her back inside. He then reportedly displayed a silver pocket knife and told the victim he would harm her child if she did not surrender her purse. The victim complied and the suspect fled. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a roughly 5’8″, 160-180 pound black man in his 40s or 50s with a scar from his left ear to his lip. He was last seen wearing a black skullcap with a white stripe.
