Police Searching For Man Who Stole $4,000 From An Emmons Avenue Cafe
A man who crept into a Sheepshead Bay restaurant stole large amounts of cash and checkbooks then fled the scene early Tuesday morning, police said.
Police said the suspect entered Masal Cafe and Lounge located at 1901 Emmons Ave. at about 4:30 a.m. from the rear door, and removed a cash register and safe, which contained a total of $4,000 in cash. The individual also took two checkbooks and multiple credit cards, police confirmed.
Surveillance photos appeared to show the suspect carrying an unknown weapon, but police said there were no victims. Cops describe the suspect as light skin, wearing a baseball cap, and jeans.
There have been no arrests and an investigation to recover the lost items is still ongoing, cops said.
