PROSPECT PARK – The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man seen in the photos and video below in connection to three recent attacks in Prospect Park.
The first incident happened at approximately 5:15pm on Sunday, February 24 inside the park between East Drive and Center Drive. Police say a man snuck up behind a 58-year-old woman as she walked on the path and pulled her hair with both hands. The man let go and fled south. The woman was not injured and refused medical attention.
The second incident occurred at approximately 2:30pm on Wednesday, March 13, again inside the park between East Drive and Center Drive. This time a 26-year-old woman was walking when an unknown man approached her, knocked her cell phone out of her hand, and grabbed her by the hair. The woman was able to fight off the man but he grabbed her cell phone from the ground before fleeing east toward the Prospect Park Zoo. The woman sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.
The third incident occurred at approximately 4:30pm on Monday, March 11, once again inside Prospect Park between East Drive and Center Drive. Police say an unknown man approached a 24-year-old woman walking in the park and forced her to perform oral sex. Following the attack, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The victim sustained a minor injury.
Police describe the suspect as a black male in his late 20’s, approximately 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall. He was last seen wearing a red pullover sweatshirt with a white stripe and blue jeans.
