Police are asking for the public’s assistance apprehending two men who last week tried to break into a Midwood store.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the two suspects, who are accused of trying to force their way into the Mekor Judaica store, located at Coney Island Avenue and Avenue P, at around 4:30am last Thursday. Police say the two me fled before they were able to enter the store and no items were stolen.

Although these suspects went home empty-handed, another bandit last month allegedly stole $3,000 found in a jacket hanging in an office in the store, according to the Yeshiva World News.

Anyone with information on the attempted burglary is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
