Police Release Video Of Suspect In Attempted Rape

Cops are turning to the public for help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted rape that occurred in Bensonhurst earlier this month.

The victim, a 34-year-old female, was walking near 74th Street and 20th Avenue on July 31, at 2:30am, when the suspect grabbed her from behind and began to kiss her neck, police said. The victim resisted and the suspect fled the location.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches. He has a thin build and dark shoulder length hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
