Police Release Photo Of Man They Say Used Stolen Credit Card Info To Purchase Laptop

The NYPD is searching for the man seen in the below photo in connection to a grand larceny incident that occurred within the 72nd Precinct which covers parts of Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace.

At approximately 10am on Monday, June 26, the 49-year-old male victim received a call from his credit card company notifying him of a fraudulent charge to his card, police say. The victim had not lost his credit card, they add.

After an investigation, police determined that the man seen in the photo used the victim’s account information to illegally purchase a $1,300 laptop online, according to the police report. The surveillance photo was taken as the suspect picked up the computer at the Apple Store in the Westfield World Trade Center located at 185 Greenwich Street in Lower Manhattan, a police representative said.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20- to 30-years-old. He was last seen wearing a striped blue dress shirt, black pants, and sneakers, and carrying a backpack.
