Police Recover Rifle Connected to Flatbush Avenue Murder and More
Following a homicide in a Flatbush Avenue business earlier this week, a man believed to be “John Doe Duffel Bag” has been questioned by police in the slayings of three Brooklyn shopkeepers. Today, a major break in the case:
Police recovered a sawed-off rifle on Wednesday they believe was used in the shooting deaths of three businessmen of Middle Eastern descent, and a person was in custody, reports CBS.
The Times says that several knives were also found. Isaac Kadare, a Besonhurst shopkeeper was killed in what police believe was a connect crime. He was shot and stabbed. The police have not linked the knives to the stabbing at this point.
NBC adds:
Ballistic evidence from two of the scenes where Brooklyn shopkeepers were slain by a suspected serial killer have been matched to a gun recovered at the home of the girlfriend of a man police are now questioning, a law enforcement official said.
Authorities are awaiting ballistics test on a third crime scene.
No arrests have been made at this point.
