Police Looking For Woman Who Stole Bag From T.J. Maxx Dressing Room

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in apprehending a woman who stole a backpack containing an iPhone, wallet, ID, bank cards, two books, a bible and a journal from a dressing room in the T.J. Maxx at 1630 E 15 St.

The incident took place on August 11, at around 8:45pm. The victim, an 18 year-old female, left her backpack unattended in the dressing room for a moment and came back to realize it was taken, according to police.

Another woman was observed wearing the backpack, and was caught on surveillance camera.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). [Update 12:56pm]: It was previously stated that the police needed assistance in “reprehending” the suspect, but the word we were looking for was “apprehending.”
