FLATBUSH – The body of a 40-year-old Brooklyn woman was discovered by police in a Flatbush parking lot just before the new year.

After notifying the woman’s family, police released her identity as Denise Moses of Flatbush. Moses lived on Ocean Avenue, a few blocks north from where her body was found.

At approximately 6am on Saturday, December 30, police say they responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious individual at a parking lot located on East 21 Street between Dorchester Road and Ditmas Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found Moses unconscious and unresponsive with no obvious signs of trauma to her body. EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

The cause of her death may have been hypothermia, a police representative says, but the medical examiner has not yet confirmed this. Temperatures were well below freezing the morning she was discovered.

Police say Moses may have been intoxicated prior to her death. The investigation is ongoing.
