A Sunset Park woman is recovering from severe stab wounds after nearly being slashed to death by a knife-swinging lunatic inside a Brooklyn building on Aug. 23, police said.

Police said they found the 38-year-old woman drenched in blood and barely alive on the steps of a building near 60th Street and Seventh Avenue in Sunset Park at around 9 a.m.

The woman had knife injuries to her neck, head, hands, and chest, police sources said. Emergency responders transported the victim to Lutheran Hospital where she underwent more than five hours of surgery, officials said.

Police initially believed the woman’s boyfriend attacked her, but now, cops are hunting for the victim’s co-worker as a person of interest. No arrests have been made, officials said.
